Defining relationships between geometry and behavior of bistable composite laminates

چکیده
Bistability is exhibited by an object when it can be resting in two stable equilibrium states. Certain composite laminates exhibit bistability having curvatures of opposite sign with the axes curvature perpendicular to each other. These actuated from one state The actuation original post-cure shape second called as ‘snap-through’ and reverse ‘snap-back’. This phenomenon used applications for morphing structures, energy harvesting, other where there a conflicting requirement structure that load-carrying, light, shape-adaptable. MW Hyer first reported this his paper 1981. He found thin unsymmetric do not behave according predictions Classical Lamination Theory (CLT). CLT linear theory predicts saddle. developed non-linear method “Extended Theory” which accurately predicted laminate have cylindrical shapes. Since then, number researchers tried identify key parameters affecting behavior such laminates. Geometric stacking sequence, fibre orientation, cure cycle, boundary conditions, force actuation, all been studied. objective research define relation between length, width thickness square rectangular required achieve bistability. Using these relations, 36 × bistable fabricated 30 CFRP layers. Also, proved does lose increase aspect ratio, long both sides are above certain ‘critical length’. A dimensions 2 50 fabricated. Further, bistable, necessary able predict actuation. Therefore, allows us shapes, well known. Finite Element Analysis carry out numerical calculations, validated fabricating measured using profilometer recorded universal test set-up.

on translation of phatic communion and socio-cultural relationships between the characters of the novels
phatic communion is a cultural concept which differs across cultures. according to hofstede (2001), the u.s. tends to have individualistic culture; however, asian countries tend to have collectivistic cultures. these cultures view phatic communion differently. in individualistic cultures like u.s., phatic communion reflects speakers’ socio-cultural relationships in conversations. to see whether...

SUMMARY The use of composite laminates in complex structures has increased significantly. However, there are still some issues when considering their use, mainly related with machining, leading to some difficulties and lack of acceptance. In this work, a methodology to evaluate drill geometry and feed rate based on thrust force and delamination extension is presented. INTRODUCTION For the past ...
متن کاملDrilling tool geometry evaluation for reinforced composite laminates
In this work, a comparative study on different drill point geometries and feed rate for composite laminates drilling is presented. For this goal, thrust force monitoring during drilling, hole wall roughness measurement and delamination extension assessment after drilling is accomplished. Delamination is evaluated using enhanced radiography combined with a dedicated computational platform that i...
متن کاملCompressive Behavior of a Glass/Epoxy Composite Laminates with Single Delamination
The buckling and postbuckling behaviors of a composite beam with single delamination are investigated. A three-dimensional finite element model using the commercial code ANSYS is employed for this purpose. The finite elements analyses have been performed using a linear buckling model based on the solution of the eigenvalues problem, and a non-linear one based on an incremental-iterative method....
متن کاملGenetic optimization of two-material composite laminates
This paper describes the optimization of a composite laminate made from two materials. The use of two materials in the laminates design can offer improved designs, as it is possible to combine the desirable properties of the two materials. In this paper, we consider the use of graphite-epoxy, which has high stiffness properties, but is expensive, and glass-epoxy, which is not as stiff, but has ...
